Ferret race nights & corporate events
- Ideal for your charity/fundraising events by putting the FUN in FUNdraising!
Ferret racing is a fun and live interactive way to raise money for your cause or charity is to organise a Ferret Race Night, a whole evening of ferret racing or evening of racing if you would prefer.
This works well for sports clubs and pubs and bars where there is plenty of outside or indoor space and plenty of customers / spectators willing to watch the fun. But can also work well at corporate fundraising or hospitality events, provided the venue has sufficient floor space for the race course.
Before the day/night:
You scrounge prizes and beg for sponsorship for FIVE races (local businesses etc.) – the races can then be named: Denzils Deli Derby, Suzies Salon Stakes, etc.
You get SIXTEEN names for the ferrets (Dashing Denzil or Slinky Suze for example, other variations on this could be to
have the ferrets named after pop stars, soap stars or
politicians.) and “sell” the ferrets so the “owner” of the winning
ferret gets a small prize on the night.
You could also organise a raffle, treasure map, meal (fish suppers, curry nights, even a ploughmans lunch can work
well), and sell tickets for whole event.
On the day/night:
We bring along the team, the course and 16 ferrets and run four races and a Grand Final.
We can sell £1 betting tickets on the night with “double your money stakes” – you get to keep the profits for your charity!
Each heat winner goes through to the final.
Each ferret in the final is “auctioned off” prior to the race and the winning owner gets a prize.
Ferret Racing is one of those unique fundraisers that seems a bit strange but actually has great potential as a novel fundraising idea.
We have provided ferret race nights for Marylebone Cricket Club, Marlow Cricket Club, Windsor Ascot Maidenhead District Sports Association for the Disabled (WAMDSAD), Guildfordians RFC, The Rotary Club of Chelwood Bridge, Aldershot Barracks to name a few.

Insurance
STA Ferret Rescue is a branch of the British Federation of Ferret Welfares.
Public Liability Insurance to the sum of £5,000,000 has been arranged with Zurich Insurance plc through the BFFW enabling us to attend and conduct ferret racing and public relation events, and operate the rescue.
