How can you help?

STARescue receives no Government funding and is reliant on individuals and groups raising money through a wide variety of fundraising events to help meet daily running costs. Dealing with a large number of animals on a regular basis, neutering and all other veterinary treatments before they are re-homed become very expensive; donations are asked for on adoptions but no way does this ever cover the everyday costs of animals in care. Therefore major fund-raising has to be done every week to meet these costs.
At least £2,000 per month minimum has to be raised to keep up the work STARescue do.

We are also starting a new project to set up an animal sanctuary. At present, all animals are kept in several centres and foster homes, but a new sanctuary would allow us to keep them all under one roof. Once up and running, the sanctuary will offer improved facilities for the animals with a much needed low cost clinic as well as an education centre, offering voluntary work under supervision within the community, community service placements, and placements for work experience and college students to learn educational skills in animal welfare. Obviously, starting such a large venture means that we are now looking for additional funding.

Making a Will is easy and yet many people die without having made any provision for the distribution of their assets in a properly drafted Will. It makes sense to make a Will - you decide how you want your property to be allocated after your death and can prevent it being taken over by the government.

Fundraising

Every year a number of our amazing supporters who arrange their own events to raise much needed money for STARescue. These events have varied enormously, from coffee mornings and bric-a-brac sales, through to sponsored walks, grub tucker pub trials and ferret racing. But whatever the event, they have all played their part in ensuring the continued work of STARescue.

We are always grateful to receive items in kind. Help such as this enables us to direct our limited funds to providing essential food and veterinary assistance for the animals in our care.
