Ferret racing & ferret roulette videos
Before the race starts the ferrets are carried around the arena to meet the spectators, whilst bets are placed on the ferret who is likely to emerge first from the tubes, having completed the course.
All the ferrets involved in the racing are rescues who have either been handed in as their owners can no longer keep them; found wandering having strayed from the safety of their own homes; or have been dumped and left to fend for themselves!!!
Our racers are the lucky ones who have already been rehomed and are receiving the love and attention they need.
These race events go towards raising more funds to keep the rescue going, allowing us to take in, care for and rehome more ferrets. Every penny counts as vet bills, food and housing have to be paid and the number of ferrets coming through our doors each year is on the increase.

Racing is an exciting event for ferrets and spectators.
All our ferrets enjoy their days out racing, they wouldnt race if they didnt.
As for the spectators, well we actively encourage their vocal participation, as you can hear in the videos:)
Tensions are high towards the end of the race, as the race isnt over until the winning ferret has emerged with all 4 feet on the floor. Many a race has ended in a nail biting finish as the lead ferret hesitates at the final hurdle!
Those who hold a winning ticket at the end of the race either win a can of Fursty Ferret Ale (or ferret key ring for those under 18) and those who don't, well they go away having enjoyed the event knowing that they have contributed to a good cause.

Ferret roulette is provided between races to keep spectators entertained.
A ferret is placed in the box, then its a case of waiting to see which coloured tube the ferret will emerge from...
Again, the spectators participate in encouraging the ferret to come out through calling, cheering, shouting or stomping feet!
