Registered charity No:1075974
We are a group of experienced ferret enthusiasts who, as well as rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming ferrets from our Ferret Rescue Centre in Sonning, near Reading in Berkshire give up our weekends, bank holidays and evenings providing ferret racing and promoting the welfare of working, domestic and rescued ferrets at various public and corporate events.
CANINE DISTEMPER has claimed the lives of over 200 ferrets across England in the last 2 months, with many more still showing symptoms in the groups infected, which includes 2 ferret rescues.
The UK clearly does have distemper back in the country so please take care of your ferrets. Distemper is highly contagious and kills.

One of the best ferret race courses in the country...
...even if we do say so ourselves.
Our course consists of 4 sets of clear pipes (specially coated so they dont get warm in ths sun) with obstacles such as water pools and see saws for the ferret to negotiate, so spectators can see the ferrets throughout the race.
The rules are simple, spectators place a bet on the ferret they want to win, and cheer it on as it makes its way through the course. The race isnt over until one ferret has emerged from the pipes and has all four feet on the floor.
Attend these events helps introduce people to the wonders of these creatures and raising funds for STARescue, a registered charity working to rescue and rehome small animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, mice, rats, ferrets, birds and any other animal in need of our care.
Contrary to belief, ferrets are not bitey smelly creatures, they are extremely loving, curious and intelligent animals and make wonderful pets.
If you are looking for an original way to entertain your guests or raise funds at a corporate event or show, then we can help.
All the ferrets we bring to the events are rescues that have been rehomed as pets, and have been well handled and cared for which means they are friendly and enjoy attending the events with us. Every person from the rescue who comes to ferret shows throughout the summer and to corporate entertainment evenings is a volunteer. All monies we raise through attending these events go towards the care of the animals that come into STARescue, none of us are paid to work here.
